That’s entirely up to you. Some people enjoy being hands on and really love the whole process, others less so. Our processes are designed to get to the essence of who you are and what you want for your home. Once we have a clear brief you will need to provide feedback and make decisions, but we can provide recommendations at every stage including enlisting the help of an interior designer or landscape designer if you prefer.
Creating and maintaining great relationships with our clients is one of our top priorities. Having open lines of communication is hugely important and we welcome questions and feedback at any time. We provide regular updates as the project progresses – you will always be kept in the loop.
We establish workable time frames for each project from the beginning, and advise clients of these from the start. You will always be updated with next steps in the process, next meetings for us to get together and discuss the work that has been done, and of any hold-ups or delays in the timeline.
The quality and type of home. We offer a completely bespoke design service based on you and your needs, it will be completely unique to you. We never just amend standard plans. That said, we will try to incorporate your design ideas so if you have a floor plan or particular design in mind, we can start from there and develop it to make it perfect for you.
An architectural designer is someone who specialises in building design and construction, from conception to final certification. We provide a service that includes architectural design, full working drawings, contract documentation and administration, essentially the same services an architect might provide.
We specialise in modern and contemporary homes, but also have extensive experience in renovating older houses. If your style is different to this, we would love to chat to see how we can help.
Of course, we’re happy to provide references on request. There are also testimonials on the portfolio pages which provide some insight into the way we work and the exceptional quality we achieve.
The concept stage is a chance to explore your ideas and dreams for your home. At our first meeting we’ll discuss these, along with more practical aspects of your project such as scope, scale and budget. From this meeting we will create a project brief and present this to you in the form of a design proposal, which will include a quote for concept design fees.
We will spend lots of time talking through all aspects of your project, distilling down your wish list, ideas and requirements in order to formulate a design brief that’s totally specific to you and your family. As we work through concepts, your feedback will steer the design until we reach a final result that ticks all the boxes.
Once the floor plans and elevations of the final concept are approved by you, we will provide you with a fee proposal for the next stage of design work.
During this last stage of the design process your plans will be fully developed and decisions will be made on everything from the design of your kitchen to the type of timber used for your deck.
Be prepared for regular communication during this stage to ensure the design meets your exact requirements. We will help bring the plans to life by providing sun studies, flows, elevations and 3D renders to enable you to visualise your finished home. When you’re completely happy with the design, consent and specification documents will be prepared for the Council.
We will take care of the whole consent process and once approved, the plans for your home are ready to come to life using our construction team or the builder you’ve selected from your tender process.
Because our design fees are are calculated on time spent, they vary greatly from project to project. At each stage of the design process (concept design, development design, final design, and construction observation) we can provide fee estimates for our work. These will vary depending on the complexity of the project and time involved. If you would like an approximate cost, please get in touch and we can discuss your project.
No, we design residential and light commercial architecture. However, due to previously offering building services, our inside builders knowledge is a big advantage over other architecture firms.
No, but we’ve developed a strong network of trusted professionals and suppliers. Part of our design process involves helping you choose a trusted construction team.
