Project: Totara Springs.
Context: Flat section in a suburban subdivision.
Brief: A spacious four bedroom family home for a flat 1255m2 section in the Totara Grove subdivision in central Greytown. The design needs to maximise natural light, while maintaining privacy from the street. Requirements include two living areas, a private master area, and generous glazing.
Response: This beautiful mid-century modern inspired home incorporates iconic elements that define the design aesthetic, such as a slender post and beam roof design and striking patterned breeze blocks walls to provide privacy. The open plan areas enjoy a north-west aspect, with sloping ceilings to capture maximum light. A generous master suite, separated by a lush planted courtyard offers sanctuary and luxury.
